LinkConnect — AI Content Policy

1. AI-Generated vs. AI-Assisted

AI-generated content is created by an AI model with little or no human authorship — for example, an image produced from a text prompt, a video synthesised by a generative model, or a post drafted end-to-end by an AI writing tool.

AI-assisted use is when a human creates the content and uses a tool to improve it. The following are allowed and do not need to be labeled:

• Spellcheck and grammar correction from your device or browser.
• On-device alt-text generation to make your photos accessible.
• Denoise, sharpen, upscale, background removal, or auto-white-balance applied to a real photo you took.
• Translating your own words from one language to another.
• Automatic captions or transcripts of your own voice or video.

When a post is meaningfully AI-assisted (for example, an AI-generated cover image on a real video, or an AI-drafted caption you edited), you must clearly disclose that in the post itself.

2. What Is Prohibited

• AI-generated text posing as a human post or comment.
• AI-generated images or videos presented as real, including deepfakes of any person.
• AI-cloned voices, synthesised speech presented as a real person, and audio deepfakes in Link Wave, voice notes, or any other audio surface.
• AI bots, automated fake accounts, or AI personas presenting as humans.
• Using AI tools to manufacture inauthentic engagement (reactions, comments, Links, reshares).
• Deepfakes of public figures, candidates, election officials, or government bodies, and any synthetic media created to interfere with an election or civic process.
• Non-consensual synthetic sexual imagery of any person.

Repeat or severe violations follow the enforcement ladder in Section 5.

3. How We Detect It

LinkConnect runs an on-platform authenticity pipeline on uploaded media and posts, including:

• EXIF and provenance metadata read from your file.
• Perceptual image hashing to spot copies of known synthetic media.
• Lightweight on-device inference to flag likely AI-generated images and video.
• Community reports tagged "AI Generated Content," which are prioritised in the moderation queue.

We do not currently send your content to third-party AI moderation providers. If we ever enable one, we will update this Policy and the Privacy Policy first, disclose the provider, and give you the ability to opt out where possible.

Content that scores as likely AI-generated may be labeled with an "AI-generated" tag on the post, reach-restricted in ranking, or removed. Labels are informational — they do not by themselves count as a violation, and you can add your own label at any time.

4. Built-in Features

LinkConnect offers features that assist you — they do not create content on your behalf:

• Search — find posts, people, circles, and events.
• Basic photo editing — crop, rotate, filters, brightness, contrast, saturation, denoise, and upscale. Processed on your device.
• Help resources — a guided help assistant with pre-written answers.
• Spellcheck — provided by your browser or operating system.
• On-device alt-text — optional accessibility feature that describes your photo locally on your device.

5. Enforcement Ladder

• First violation: content removed or labeled, warning issued.
• Repeat violations: temporary suspension of 24 hours to 7 days, reduced reach on future posts, and a higher Bot Score.
• Severe or persistent violations: permanent account termination, including all linked accounts under your verified identity.
• Deepfakes of a real person, election deepfakes, or non-consensual synthetic sexual imagery: immediate removal and possible permanent termination without prior warning; unlawful content is escalated to authorities where required.

AI-generation signals also contribute to your Bot Score, which can independently trigger the actions described in the Privacy Policy (Section 22).

6. Appeals

If you believe a label, removal, or restriction was wrong, appeal from the in-app notification or by emailing support@linkconnectapp.com. Appeals are reviewed by a different human reviewer than the original decision-maker, and we respond within 7 days with a statement of reasons. Where required by law, our reply will identify out-of-court dispute-resolution options.

7. Reporting AI Content

Tap ··· on any post, comment, or profile → Report → choose "AI Generated Content". These reports are prioritised and reviewed within 24 hours. The reporter is never shown to the reported user, and retaliation against reporters is prohibited.

8. Business Accounts

Businesses may use AI-generated logos, product renders, and marketing imagery on their business profile, provided the imagery does not depict real people without consent, does not imply endorsement, and does not deceive customers about the product or service. Business accounts remain fully subject to Section 2 and must clearly disclose AI-generated ad creative in the ad itself.

9. Copyright and AI

Under current US Copyright Office guidance, purely AI-generated works are generally not protectable by copyright. LinkConnect will not enforce DMCA takedown requests over content that is entirely AI-generated with no meaningful human authorship. You remain responsible for not uploading AI-generated content that infringes another person's work, likeness, or trademark.

10. Compliance With Synthetic-Media Laws

We comply with applicable synthetic-media transparency and disclosure laws, including the EU AI Act's rules on AI-generated content and US state laws restricting election deepfakes and non-consensual synthetic sexual imagery. Where those laws require additional labeling, we will add it automatically.

11. Changes to This Policy

We will update this Policy if the platform's features or our approach change. If we ever introduce AI-powered tools that process your content with an external provider, we will update this Policy and the Privacy Policy before turning those tools on, disclose any provider involved, and give you the ability to opt out.
