Community & culture

A smaller internet, made of people you'd actually recognise.

LinkConnect isn't trying to be everyone's town square. It's built for the group chat, the neighbourhood, the eight people who care about your Tuesday — verified humans, posting in order, at a scale where being decent is still possible. The culture below isn't aspirational marketing. It's what the product enforces and what we moderate for.

    The values we foster

Six things this place is for.

    Presence over performance

LinkConnect is built for the ordinary parts of a life — a slow morning, a walk, a bad haircut, a good one. There are no public like counts, no follower vanity metrics on posts and no streaks to protect, so there's nothing to optimise. Post the thing you'd text a friend.

    Real people, on purpose

Everyone here is 18+ and verified through email and phone at signup, with deeper identity checks for live video, monetisation and large Circles. AI can't post, reply or generate a persona. If someone talks to you, someone is there.

    Small rooms, not stadiums

Link Circles, Close Links and LinkChat are where most of the good stuff happens. We'd rather you have twelve real conversations than twelve thousand impressions, and the product is shaped to make the small room the default.

    Disagreement without dogpiles

Link Thoughts let people agree or disagree without a public pile-on scoreboard, and reaction counts stay quiet by design. You can push back on an idea here. You can't turn one person into the day's entertainment.

    Local and human

Neighborhood, Photo Trails and Link Circles are about the places you actually stand in. Businesses are part of that too — as neighbours you can choose to follow, never as ads pushed into your feed.

    Consent is the default

No presence indicators, no read-receipt pressure, no precise location unless you turn it on, and encryption on LinkChat that we can't read past. Your visibility is something you grant, not something the app assumes.

    What we expect from you

The short version: be a person other people are glad to see.

Everyone agrees to this when they join, and it applies everywhere — feed, LinkClips, Circles, Neighborhood, Live and LinkChat.

    01

    Bring your real self

One human, one account. Use the persona system if you want different faces for different parts of your life — that's what it's for — but don't impersonate anyone or run engineered accounts.

    02

    Post what you made

Photos you took, clips you filmed, thoughts you thought. Credit people when you reshare. AI-generated media isn't welcome in the feed and gets filtered on upload.

    03

    Argue with ideas, not people

Strong opinions are fine. Harassment, targeted pile-ons, slurs, threats and coordinated brigading are not, and we act on them regardless of who's involved.

    04

    Respect other people's boundaries

Don't share someone else's face, location, private messages or personal details without their say-so. Don't screenshot Close Links content outward. Don't push past a block or a mute with a second account.

    05

Keep intimate content where it belongs

Adult and sensitive content must be self-flagged so it stays blurred and out of Discovery. Nothing sexual involving minors, nothing non-consensual, ever — those are permanent removals and reports to authorities.

    06

    Look after the room

Report what's off, use muted words and Inner Circle controls to shape your own space, and step in for people getting piled on. Moderation works best when it's not only us doing it.

    Community Guidelines, summarised

    The rules, on one screen.

This is a plain-language summary. The full Community Guidelines are the binding version and go into detail on each category, edge cases and appeals.

    Not allowed

    • Harassment, hate speech, threats and targeted pile-ons
    • Sexual content involving minors, or any non-consensual intimate imagery
    • Doxxing, stalking, or sharing someone's location without consent
    • AI-generated media passed off as real, and synthetic or bot accounts
    • Spam, engagement farming, scams and manipulated engagement
    • Glorifying self-harm, violence, or organised harm

    Allowed with care

    • Adult and sensitive content, when self-flagged so it stays blurred
    • Difficult topics, recovery stories and hard news, with context
    • Political and religious speech that argues with ideas, not identities
    • Business promotion, inside business surfaces and clearly labelled

    How enforcement works

    • Reports are triaged by category and priority, and reviewed by humans
    • Outcomes scale: a warning, a removal, a feature restriction, then suspension
    • Every action is logged, and every action can be appealed
    • Moderators can't post socially, and conflicts of interest reroute automatically
