How LinkConnect is different — and where it isn't.
We compare by how apps work, not by name-calling. The categories below describe the dominant patterns in large feed apps, short-video apps and messaging apps. Individual products differ, and several have shipped good changes lately. Where a category is mixed, we mark it as mixed rather than scoring a point.

A comparison that only flatters the author isn't worth reading. Here's where you should pick something else.
If you need reach, the big platforms win
LinkConnect launches with a small community. If your goal is the largest possible audience for your work today, a platform with a billion accounts and a recommendation engine will do that better than we will. We're not going to pretend otherwise.
If you want to get paid for posting, we don't do that yet
There is no creator fund, no ad revenue share, and no tipping at launch. Businesses can pay to promote events, and that's the extent of money moving through the app.
If you like a recommendation feed, you'll miss it
Plenty of people genuinely enjoy an algorithmic For You feed, and that's a fair preference. LinkConnect gives you discovery in a separate tab, but your main feed will never be ranked for you. If that sounds worse rather than better, we're probably not your app.
If you're under 18, you can't join
Every account is age-verified 18+. That's a real limitation, and a permanent one.
Why the differences exist
Most of the row-by-row differences above come from one structural fact: an ad-funded product has to grow the time you spend in it, because attention is the inventory being sold. Ranked feeds, public like counts, autoplay and recommendation tabs are all rational answers to that problem.
LinkConnect is funded by business accounts paying for promoted events and campaigns, so extra minutes of scrolling don't make us money. That's the whole reason we can ship a chronological feed and hide like counts without it costing us anything. It's a business model choice before it's a design choice — read the full commitments and business model FAQ for the specifics.
If that funding model changes, we'll say so on this page and in the About page before it changes in the app.
